RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh government is all set to release the outstanding paddy bonus amount to farmers on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25, under PM ‘Modi’s guarantee’, promised in the BJP manifesto.
State chief secretary Amitabh Jain on Tuesday convened a high-level meeting with officials in the state capital to give necessary directions for preparations for payment of outstanding paddy bonus amount to farmers. Among several other promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he had assured of releasing outstanding bonus amounts to paddy farmers soon after BJP came to power, and chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced to make it grand on the birth anniversary of their tall leader and former PM Vajpayee.
The bonus of paddy farmers from the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 is outstanding from the BJP’s regime to be paid at the rate of Rs 300 per quintal.
Chief secretary reviewed the ongoing paddy procurement at support price in the state and asked officials to prepare for the ‘Good Governance Day’ on December 25.
All district collectors have been asked to ensure necessary preparations in this regard.
He said that the birth anniversary of former PM, Bharat Ratna late Atal Vajpayee ji is celebrated as 'Good Governance Day' and the state government has decided to do necessary repairs of Atal pillars in the urban bodies along with cleanliness campaign across the state.
